AMA Pit Bike Championship
There’s a particular kind of joy in racing a motorcycle that’s barely bigger than your bike when you were ten — wide open, elbow to elbow with your friends, dirt flying, laughing the whole way around. Call it minibike racing, pit bike racing, boonie bike racing — whatever name your crew uses, it’s some of the purest fun on two wheels, and the perfect counterbalance to the high-stakes competition unfolding everywhere else at AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days.
Now in its third year, the AMA Pitbike Championship at AMA VMD has grown into a multi-day event with nine overall titles on the line. Riders will battle for class wins in 110 Stock, 110 Stock Limited, 12-Inch Open, Vet, Vintage Minicycle, Women, Trailbike, Trailbike Vet (35+) and Mini Bike Youth. That’s a lineup broad enough to bring grandparents and grandkids to the same starting line.
New for this year, the Trailbike Vet (35+) class joins the field, expanding on the popular Trailbike class from previous events and giving seasoned riders a class of their own. And if you’ve still got a pull-start minibike gathering dust in the garage, this is the moment to bring it out to the track for the exhibition Rip Cord class!
For additional details regarding class requirements, view the documents under Rules & Classes.
